The ISO 45001 is the new global standard for improving worker safety, building safer and better work conditions, and reducing or eliminating workplace hazards. This is a future ISO standard designed for codifying occupational safety and health management system requirements globally.

Upon implementation, ISO 45001 will prove to be a variation of the existing OHSAS 18001. It is based on the "plan-do-check-act" methodology.
